Women's Genevieve Blouse
We love the simplicity of this pattern, making it a great first woven blouse.
Tips for Beginners:
- Try the round neck version; the V neck requires special care.
- Avoid slippery fabrics. Use lightweight broadcloth, cotton shirtings, or cotton/linen blends, but not pure linen.
- A bit of spandex or elastine in the fabric can sometimes make easier cutting!
- For the V neck, use a rotary blade for precise facing and stabilizer like Nancy Zieman’s Stay Tape. You might also use the tape on the sleeve seams.
- Practice blending the waist to hips on muslin for a custom fit.
- Only attempt this pattern if the darts match your bust size.
- Use dark, lightweight fabrics. Avoid sheer or floral patterns.
